About the Artist
Denise Ballard-Wyllie’s landscape prints burst into abundant colourful flowerings. Her focus is landscape art with forays into other topics -monumental Science-Art projects, with a Cancer Research UK lab. Hand-printing 42 metre artworks- a DNA piece hangs in The Royal Mint. A 20m ‘Whitework’ created in partnership with Wyllie O Hagan, championed cancer research advocacy groups in UK & USA, highlighting scientist Rosalind Franklin.
Denise collaborates with international artists groups in London, UK, Puerto Rico, Japan & Russia etc. She worked with Art-Contact Russia-UK 1992-2002 & annually holds an Open Studio with French printmaking society Manifestampe’s ‘Fête de l’estampe’ festival since 2018. She is an associate member of The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and Director / Committee Member of The Printmakers’ Council. She has independently project-managed & led mixed-funded urban outreach multi-ethnic / multi-religion groups in London, taught in print workshops, computer fine art studios, lectured in art history, photography and life drawing.
Education
Wyllie has an Hons degree from Kingston School of Art & 4 impressive postgraduate printmaking qualifications; Brighton College of Art Etching/Screenprinting with Terence Gravett; Central School of Art with Norman Ackroyd & David Gluck, specialising in etching and screenprinting; a Masters at Wimbledon School of Art screenprinting. At The Slade School of Fine Art she was Research Assistant specialising in screenprinting & lithography with Professor Barto Dos Santos & Stanley Jones MBE.
